When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing socks
Synopsis
After witnessing a bizarre and traumatic incident involving a patient, a psychiatrist becomes increasingly convinced that she is being threatened by a mysterious entity. A few days before the film’s September 30, 2022 release, actors from the film appeared at several baseball games, sitting behind home plate, motionless and smiling as they stared into the camera, unmoving despite the fans in the audience who were understandably concerned, while wearing Smile T-shirts. Another soon appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. At approximately the 31-minute mark, Rose breaks a glass when her alarm goes off. A few seconds later, as she checks the door, she is wearing lace-up shoes.

Based on what happens later at a party, there are several continuity issues that may not be “errors” but may be deliberate to show “breaks” in Rose’s consciousness/sanity. Why are you doing this to me? The Monstrosity: Because Your Mind Is So Inviting. Paramount’s opening and closing logos feature a curved line in the shape of a smile at the base of the mountain. I was wrong
Lollipop Written by Beverley Ross and Julius Dixon Starring The Chordettes. One of the few horror films that managed to surprise me this year. When the trailer came out, I thought it was going to be another idiotic and incompetent mess. From the beginning, everything from the direction, the performances, to the cinematography and sound design were absolutely stunning. How a low budget managed to achieve this feat was beyond me, but the film was simply mesmerizing to watch.
Smile handled it decently, but don’t expect Oscar-worthy exposition
The horror was quite effective with scares and terrifying moments, although some were cheap but not too distracting. They were able to build the tension so well and never intended to let it down until the end. The plot was simple enough to tie all the relevant characters together to make me care about them, although some might complain that 90% of the characters were just filler and I could agree with that. However, the protagonist was good enough to carry the entire show. One thing that might not go down well with many audiences was the use of mental illness.
Give it a try
And no, it wasn’t exactly the main theme, so try not to give up halfway because there would be surprises in the last act of the movie. I’d say it was worth it for horror fans like me. It wasn’t just some Annabelle or Insidious sequences, but something more.
