World Cup Week 1 — Review

Since Ecuador thrashed Qatar in front of empty stands, the WC has come a long way. It all began with Heavyweights Iran getting smashed by Minnows England 6-2. Then Argentina were schooled was the Saudis, then Germans were spanked by Japan, then Japan was bitch-slapped by Costa Rica, then Morocco tamed Belgium 2-zip. Interestingly when the minnows have taken an early lead, it hasn’t ended well. Australia scored against France in the 9th minute — Canada scored against Croatia in the 2nd minute — both ended up getting destroyed 4-1. It’s all so confusing & maddening, but this chaos is simply a smokescreen — we all know who’s winning the WC — it’s not Brazil, it’s the Saudis
